The Wren’s Nest is seeking a Camp Assistant for the 2025 Scribes Summer Camp Writing Program. This part-time position takes place at the museum located in West End Atlanta, 1050 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. SW. The Camp Assistant will be responsible for helping supervise and mentor 12 middle school-age campers (ages 11-14), ensuring their safety and well-being, as well as helping facilitate educational activities for them throughout the 5-day session.

The Scribes Summer Camp will run from Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11, 2025. This is a one-week, unpaid internship. You will be responsible for assisting, planning, and co-facilitating summer camp lessons with your designated group.
Qualifications
Current high school or college student (work permit may be required), high school diploma, GED, or higher
Experience working in a summer camp or youth development setting
Passionate about working with children and youth
Committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all campers and staff
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills
Writing or art skills, including narrative storytelling, music, visual/graphic art, etc.
Ability to work with students of different ages and backgrounds
Experience in co-facilitating recreational activities
Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. This is a part-time, unpaid role, with flexible hours of 4 to 8 hours per day over five days. Timeframe for camp is Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM July 7 - 11, 2025.
